When Jasper (Jason Schwartzman) distinguishes himself as the worst student at the Postal Academy, he is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where locals barely exchange words for words let alone letters. Jesper is about to surrender when he finds an ally in the local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones), and discovers Oscar-winning Klaus (J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter living alone in a cabin filled with hand-made toys.
